Summer Stargazing: Solar Eclipse

Join STFC Rutherford Appleton Laboratory for a special family-friendly evening celebrating the partial solar eclipse. Alongside safe viewing of the eclipse through solar telescopes and eclipse glasses, visitors will enjoy a live stream from the Royal Research Ship Sir David Attenborough in Greenland, where the eclipse will be total, offering a unique opportunity to experience both events.

The evening also includes a talk by Professor Richard Harrison on the science of solar eclipses, together with hands-on space activities and demonstrations for all ages. Places are limited, with tickets allocated by lottery due to expected high demand.
