See the partial solar eclipse at Newlands Corner

Join Guildford Astronomical Society at Newlands Corner for a free public viewing of the partial solar eclipse, when more than 90% of the Sun will be covered by the Moon. Society members will have specialist solar telescopes available, along with eclipse glasses to borrow.

Meet at the Discovery Centre from 5:30 pm, with the short guided walk to the observing site departing at 5:45 pm. The eclipse begins at 6:17 pm and reaches maximum at 7:12 pm. The eclipse officially ends at 8:07 pm, although the low setting Sun may disappear from view before then.

No booking is required. The event is weather dependent, so please check Guildford Astronomical Society's social media channels for updates on the day.
